The Lecco District has spontaneously assembled around the three main Production patterns which are the foundations of the local metal an mechanical industry: wire, flats and billets. 

Each of these three patterns develops inside the district, covering the entire manufacture of semi-finished products, to obtain – through subsequent stages – finished products in a number of complex shapes or as single components, to be supplied to a number of different end users.

A highly specialized production is associated to a remarkable number of complementary products and processes. While, on the one side, close interdependent relations are established among companies, on the other several processing stages or a number of different processes are used by one single company.
